Draw a Perfect Circle
How close can you get?
Draw one smooth circle, then lift your finger.
What is this experiment about?
A circle looks simple, but drawing one freehand is surprisingly hard! Every point on a real circle is exactly the same distance from the middle. Human hands wobble, speed up, and drift — so getting close to perfect takes a steady hand and a calm pace.
Questions kids ask
- What makes a circle 'perfect'?
- A perfect circle has every point on its edge exactly the same distance from the center. Even a tiny wobble lowers the score.
- How is the score calculated?
- We compare the distance from your drawing's center to every point you drew. The less that distance changes, and the more your path closes into a loop, the higher your score.
- Why is drawing a circle so hard?
- Our hands move more naturally in straight or curved lines guided by our joints, not in a perfectly constant arc — so it takes practice to fight that natural motion.
